儿童英语中级：课后小结示例
读得更长，读得更慢
故事阅读、长元音和真正的对话，适合7到10岁的孩子。
这个年纪的孩子已经能读完一整个故事，但阅读对他们来说仍然很吃力。他们需要清楚地听到每个音、放慢速度、带着感情大声朗读，还要说说自己读到了什么。所以每节课都围绕一个故事来设计；下课后，家长会收到一份用英语和自己母语写的课后小结，还有一个专为孩子打造的练习页。
下面是一个完整的示例，主角是一个八岁的孩子。这个页面上的所有功能都能实际操作：点 🔊 按钮、听故事、拼单词、拖动滑块，还可以做小测验。
来认识一下 Leo 李子轩，8岁，家在南京。他已经能自己读短小的书，最爱跑车，读每个句子都像赛车一样冲过去。他每周三晚上6点30分（北京时间）在 Zoom 上跟我上45分钟的课。（Leo 是虚构的人物，但他的课是很典型的一节课。）
1课后小结：Leo 的爸妈会收到什么
下课几分钟后，Leo 的爸妈就会收到这封邮件：我们读了什么、Leo 哪些地方表现得很好、带发音的新单词，以及这周要练习的三件小事。

- 🔤Found the long A sound in the -ail family: snail, mail, tail, sail, pail, nail, trail.找出 -ail 词族里的长元音 A：snail、mail、tail、sail、pail、nail、trail。
- 🆚Heard the difference between short a and long a: pan / pain, man / main.分辨短元音 a 和长元音 a：pan / pain、man / main。
- 🏁Compared the animals: fast, faster, the fastest; slow, slower, the slowest.比较动物：fast、faster、the fastest；slow、slower、the slowest。
- 💬Talked about the story: How did Snail feel? Why? Leo answered in full sentences with because.讨论故事：蜗牛有什么感受？为什么？子轩用 because 说出了完整的句子。

⭐ When I asked "Is slow bad?", Leo thought for a moment and said, "No. Snail is slow, so she sees the mail." That is a real reader's answer.⭐ 我问“慢是不好的吗？”，子轩想了一下说：“不是。蜗牛很慢，所以她看到了信。”这才是真正会阅读的孩子给出的答案。

课后小结会通过邮件发给家长，也会保存在孩子专属的页面上，什么都不会丢。
2故事时间：边听边读
在这个级别，故事就是课程本身。孩子听故事、读故事、演故事，也一起讨论故事。我写的每个故事都在练习一个学习者觉得难的音。Snail and the Slow, Slow Trail（蜗牛和慢慢的小路）练习的是长元音 A，也带着一个许多又快又聪明的孩子都需要听到的道理：放慢脚步，才会注意到身边的事物。

01Build a word: the -ail family · 拼单词
Tap the start of a word. Then say it long and slow, like a snail: aaail. · 点一个词首，再像蜗牛一样拉长、慢慢地读：aaail。
02Short a or long a? · 短 a 还是长 a？
Add an i and the a says its name! Tap and listen. · 加上 i，a 就读它自己的名字！点一下听听看。
03Fast, faster, the fastest · 比一比
Tap each animal and say the sentence. · 点每只动物，说出句子。
04How did Snail feel? · 蜗牛有什么感受？
Move through the story. Say how Snail feels, and say why with because. · 跟着故事走，说出蜗牛的感受，再用 because 说出原因。
- Snail feels sad because she is always last.蜗牛很难过，因为她总是最后一名。
- Snail feels lonely because she is alone in the rain.蜗牛很孤单，因为她独自在雨中。
- Snail feels surprised because she finds the lost mail.蜗牛很惊讶，因为她找到了丢失的信。
- Snail feels proud because she saved the letter.蜗牛很自豪，因为她救回了那封信。
- Snail feels happy because nobody tells her to hurry.蜗牛很开心，因为再也没有人催她快一点了。
05Story quiz · 故事小测验

Pan has a short a. Trail and rain have the long a. · pan 是短元音 a，trail 和 rain 是长元音 a。
🐇The rabbit is ___ animal in the garden. · 兔子是花园里___的动物。
The rabbit is the fastest animal in the garden. · 兔子是花园里跑得最快的动物。
真正的练习页每周都会增加内容：更多单词、更多故事、更多游戏，还有一个链接回到孩子的课程日历。
5给家长的话
- 问一句“为什么？”，然后等一等。在出手帮忙之前，先在心里数到五。英语就是在思考的时间里长出来的。
- 慢不是问题。读得太快的孩子常常会漏掉单词的结尾。带着感情、慢慢地读，恰恰是要学的本领。
- 让孩子当老师。请孩子把故事讲给您听。能把顺序讲对，就是很好的练习。
- 读两遍。读第二遍的时候，孩子才开始享受这些文字，而不只是一个字一个字地解码。
