TOEIC Exam Preparation

The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is an internationally recognised English language examination designed to test the everyday English skills of people who use English in their workplace and in an international environment. The TOEIC Speaking & Writing test is designed to properly assess the student’s ability to actually use the English language in the workplace. Although this part of the exam reflects actual English use in the workplace, no prior specialist business term knowledge is expected or required on the part of the student. The test covers the following areas:

  • Grammar
  • Vocabulary
  • Organisation
  • General coherence

The scoring system for the TOEIC Exam is as follows:

  • 10 - 180 No Useful Proficiency
  • 185 - 250 Memorised Proficiency
  • 255 - 400 Elementary Proficiency
  • 405 - 600 Elementary Proficiency Plus
  • 605 - 780 Limited Working Proficiency
  • 785 - 900 Working Proficiency Plus
  • 905 - 990 International Proficiency
