What is this, and have you lost your mind?

You do not have to be crazy, but it helps. I’m Ross, a Canadian English teacher with more than 20 years of experience. I hope we can meet online for one hour each week — more like a fun, useful English conversation than a stiff classroom. Real stories, real conversation, games, light but effective homework, and steady encouragement. You might even learn something.

The goal is simple: build momentum. When people keep showing up, the class stays alive, the energy stays high, and progress becomes much easier. That is exactly what this model is designed to do.

How it works (very simple)

  • 1 hour • once a week • online.
  • Show up and your class stays free.
  • Miss a class and want to continue? Pay only for the class you missed. No back-charges. No unpleasant surprises.
  • Give at least 5 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. When possible, the missed class can be rescheduled during the same week.
  • Stop whenever you want. If you decide not to continue, you owe nothing.
Free English Forever

Free English Forever

One online class each week, about 1 hour. Attend regularly and your weekly class stays free. If you miss a class but want to continue, you can keep your place by paying only for the class you missed. If you give at least 5 hours’ notice, rescheduling in the same week may be possible. If you choose not to continue, that is completely fine — there is no contract and no pressure.

Why free right now?

I’m rebuilding my life in a new location, far from what was familiar to me, and teaching English is something I have always deeply enjoyed. People appreciated me and made me feel that I had a real purpose. I love teaching, and I’m hopeful that you’ll tell your friends and momentum will build for this pay-as-you-go idea. I saw it work with in-person classes in Taiwan, and I believe I can eventually build that same success online. That’s the honest answer.

Curious about the larger story behind this? It is a spectacular example of institutional failure, to say the least. That well-documented saga is at iLearn.tw/scam.

Limited enrollment. When it’s full, it’s full.

Policy note: Your weekly class stays free when you attend. If you miss a class and want to continue, you pay only for the class you missed. No retroactive fees. If you need to cancel, please give at least 5 hours’ notice. Terms may evolve and will always be published here and in our policy.
