The Playlist of Gareth Leslie
met Gareth Leslie when I was 26 years old and living in Germany. Gareth was a treasure of a person, known for his huge and eclectic taste in music and his passion and love for it. He was, and I assume still is, a great musician himself, and his enthusiasm for these songs and many others from a broad range of artists and genres was something he shared with adult students weekly in Stade, Germany. I miss you, Gareth, and you are never forgotten!
Here is the list he gave me on a CD titled 'Picnic Basket' because it is indeed just that! It is a picnic basket of a playlist:
"Gymnopédie No. 1" is one of the most famous piano compositions by French composer Erik Satie. It is known for its calming and melancholic melody.
