Sound familiar?

English shouldn’t disappear when someone speaks to you.

“I know the answer, but I freeze.”

“I understand more than I can say.”

“I studied for years, but I still don’t sound natural.”

That is exactly what we work on. Speaking, listening, pronunciation, useful vocabulary, and natural correction while you communicate.

How lessons work

English is a language. Use it.

You will not spend the whole lesson quietly copying rules. You will speak, react, ask questions, tell stories, listen, and get useful correction as you go.

The lesson feels like a real conversation — with a teacher listening carefully enough to make every conversation useful.

01

Real conversation

Talk about things you actually care about, not dead sentences from a workbook.

02

Pronunciation

Hear what is changing, practise it, and learn how to make yourself easier to understand.

03

Natural correction

Grammar and vocabulary are corrected in context, while you are actually using English.

04

Your goals

Conversation, work, interviews, presentations, confidence, or something specific to you.

Meet Ross

A teacher, not a script.

Ross Cline has taught English since 1999. He founded and ran his own English school in Taiwan and now teaches from Southeast Asia.

His approach is simple: people need more chances to use English, more useful feedback, and fewer reasons to be afraid of making a mistake.

Start simply

Talk first. Decide after.

Book an introductory meeting, tell me what you want English for, and let me hear where you are now. I can then recommend the right lesson format before you pay for anything.

Phnom Penh local rates · USD

One or two people share the same total rate; three or four share the same total rate. Online lessons have a 1-hour minimum and in-person lessons a 1.5-hour minimum.

A few useful answers

Before you book

Do I need to be good at English already?

No. The point of the first conversation is to find out what you can already do and what is getting in your way. We start from there.

Are lessons online or in person?

Both are possible. Online lessons are available regardless of location. In-person Phnom Penh lessons depend on schedule and an agreed suitable meeting location.

Can you help with Business English?

Yes. Lessons can focus on interviews, meetings, presentations, professional writing, workplace communication, or English connected to your job and industry.

What if I am nervous speaking English?

That is one of the most common reasons to take a private lesson. You are not expected to perform. You are there to practise, make mistakes, get useful feedback, and become more comfortable.

Can I study with a friend or colleague?

Yes. One or two people share the same rate, as do three or four. Rates rise for groups of five, six, and seven or more; after seven, the group rate stays the same.
